Children enjoy placing pictures in a space according to the rules or their imagination. They learn through that to perceive and understand the space relations, feel the space and individual elements. It would be difficult for a child to comprehend the prepositions without this experience. However, we recommend to the children experiencing difficulties with prepositions beside this game which will help them with that, to also explore the space of for example their room using their own body. Also play with for example plush toys by arranging them at various places in their room. To master prepositions requires above all movement experience which can then be easier transferred to a surface and later to a language itself.
This set will also allow you to test how much your child remembers and understands. Also, how much your child is able to instruct you. For example, you can tell him or her: Put the squirrel on the branch, foy next to the tree and the hedgehog next to the tree stump. This is already quite a long instruction which a preschool child will be able to follow. With smaller children choose only one. Then you change roles with the child.
