Look at the car, it seems to be missing something. "Wheeeel." "Well done!" That means that the car is WITHOUT a ...?" "Wheel?" "What about this second car?" "Is it also WITHOUT a wheel?" "No, it has wheels" "That means, it is WITH ...?" "Wheel!" This is an example of conversation over the new product WITH and WITHOUT for children of age 4-6 years

What about the younger children, can they also enjoy and learn from this product? The 2-3 year olds are gently encouraged to differentiate detail. They are navigated to distinguish the differences and variations. The Pictures WITH and WITHOUT are just the perfect aid for these children.

Not only are the pictures sufficiently big and the missing details are easily spotted, these pictures also use the so called AHA moment which stimulates in children the desire to speak. How to promote this in a child?

For example, by showing the child both pictures and pointing with a finger to the place where a part of the picture is missing.  Saying at the same time: "Oh, something is missing here". Simultaneously we lead the child to look at the other picture to see if the second picture is also missing "something". Perhaps at this point the child will already be calling. "Wheeeel." Maybe it will be waiting for you to fill in the missing word. It makes no difference because at this point the child is already prepared and fully focused to not only hear the new word but also see and simultaneously say it. It is the moment of surprise, exploring, identifying and understanding. Moment, at which they grasp new words easily.

With yet younger children we would be satisfied with the child describing the picture using the words Is versus Isn’t. This already helps the child to understand and focus the attention to THAT particular word which is describing what it is and what it is not. You will avoid forcing the child to speak. With our pictures you don’t have to.  Children enjoy speaking with them on their own.

The set includes total of 20 sheets (38 pairs of pictures).
